Sierra (formerly known as Sierra Trading Post) is a department store that offers savings on top name brand apparel and equipment for the everyday active person. They offer options for anyone who might live an active lifestyle from gym training, to yoga, to running, to hiking, to camping and anything in between. Sierra is part of the TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods, and Home Sense family of stores, so if you love any of those, the Sierra store in Watchung, New Jersey struck me as a fusion of those stores, but with the active enthusiast in mind.
I was able to preview Sierra in Watchung, New Jersey shortly after its grand opening and I was blown away by the selection! I was already familiar with Sierra for a couple of years, shopping with them mainly online and at one other physical store location in New Jersey, but Sierra Watchung left me so much more satisfied!
HERE ARE 3 THINGS I TOOK AWAY FROM MY SHOPPING TRIP AT THE WATCHUNG LOCATION
1. SIERRA OFFERS A VARIETY OF PRODUCTS IN EVERY CATEGORY
Prior to ever visiting Sierra’s physical store location, most of my shopping with them was done online, and it usually was limited to active apparel. It wasn’t until I actually stepped foot in the store that I realized that I was practically in a wonderland! I literally found things for myself and every member of my family in every single section! Not only do they carry offerings for the active enthusiast, there’s hiking and camping equipment, sporting goods, outerwear, shoes, toys, health and beauty, home furnishings, luggage, pet goods, and even a wide variety of guilt-free snacks!
2. SIERRA HAS HIGH END BRAND NAME PRODUCTS WITH PRICING THAT IS WALLET FRIENDLY
Can you imagine walking into a store and getting everything at 20 to 60% off, all the time, without having to wait for a specific sale? If not, you might want to check them out.
3. SIERRA BELONGS TO A FAMILY OF ALREADY WELL-LOVED BRANDS
As I mentioned previously, Sierra falls under the umbrella of TJX Brands, which also runs TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods, and Home Sense. Now if there’s one thing I’m sure about, so many people I know are crazy about the prices and selection offered at those stores, and Sierra lives up to the same hype. Did you know that if you’re a cardholder to any of the TJX Brands stores, you can also use that credit card to make purchases at Sierra. The only kicker is that if you need to make an item return, you must return that item to Sierra only. You cannot return a Sierra purchase to any of the other stores.

Sierra is open from 9 AM to 9 PM every Monday through Saturday, and 10 AM to 7 PM on Sundays. You can also download the Sierra app to find more selections that you may not necessarily find in stores.
